RC 324: New Normal / Coronacoaster

Everyone’s talking at me…about The New Normal, which apparently is like New Coke, i.e like the old one but with all the nice things taken out. Apparently we are in a new future, one that seems to be cribbing the lyrics to East 17 songs …Stay now…stay now…stay now…and government mixed message memes with laughable yet tragic consequences. Wonka says really?







We ride the coronacoaster (which isn’t great as it sounds) and in every job that must be done, there is an element of fun so I find a few musical silver linings in the Dark Cloud of COVIDIOT-1918. Behind the clouds is the sun still shining….yet into each life some rants must fall , Some days must be dark and dreary!



80’s pop, drum and bass, hardcore rave, jungle, indie, dub, reggae, trip-hop, afrobeat, ambient, covers, edits, electronica – even songs from 1943 AND 1583! It’s got it all, even Mary Poppins parodies. Also there is a Kraftwerk tribute in honour of Floria Schneider and a nod to Fela Kuti drummer Tony Allen who both died recently.



Though quite intent in his pursuit, he has a merry tune to boot, He knows a song will move the job along… (186Mb, 2:09)
